Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte is located in the mid S.W. coast of Florida. The two communities are divided by Charlotte Harbor which is fed by the Peace River and empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The area offers clean air, sunshine, fishing, wildlife, golfing, boating, swimming, etc., in a peaceful , relaxed atmosphere.

There are many parks offering barbeque grills, tennis courts, basketball hoops, shuffle board courts and children's playgrounds. There is also a lovely park/beach combination at the Port Charlotte Beach on the shore of Charlotte Harbor.

The climate is sub-tropical making it possible to enjoy the outdoors year round.

Theme parks and other sightseeing are in abundance an equal distance to the south and north, with Disneyland approximately 3 1/2 hours to the north and Miami approximately 4 hours to the south.

As an historical note, Ponce de Leon landed on Pine Island in Charlotte Harbor in 1513 and Punta Gorda celebrates the Conquistadors' landing with a festival every year.
